The Dream Mile is the flagship event in Vibha's continued efforts to increase awareness about the plight of underprivileged children. It has come a long way since its inception in 1998. It has grown from being a small event attended primarily by volunteers and friends to a permanent fixture on the calendars of runners in the various cities in America. The increasing participation and enthusiasm for this event just goes to show how strongly people feel about the cause of underprivileged children.

Registration limit for this event is 1,500 runners. Registration on Day of The Event will not be available if the event is sold out. This section of our page will be updated accordingly.

| Course Maps |
Coyote Creek trail is all paved, well shaded trail with slight incline. Race will start and end from Hellyer Park, near lake area.
The courses are USATF certified.
Water stations every 1.5 to 2 mile with water, gatorade, bananas.
Gu gel and salt candies at Half Marathon water stations.
Please carry additional water if needed.

We STRONGLY encourage you to pick up your race packet at one of the following locations as we are expecting close to 1,500 runners. It will enable us to help ease up the participation process on the day of the event.
> Friday, May 31, 2013, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sports Basement in Sunnyvale, CA.

Please also note that, > Store discounts will be available at Sports Basement & Road Runner on the pickup days. > Registrants can pick up race packets for other registered runners/walkers as long as they can present a printed copy of their friend's registration confirmation email. Once the race packet is released by Vibha, the individual participant is responsible for collecting the race packet from the person who has picked it up on their behalf. > New registrations will be accepted at both race packet pickup locations. |
| Parking |
Parking on the day of the race for patrons has been paid by Vibha to avoid any delays and to insure a hassle-free experience. We have different parking lots for 5K and 10K/Half Marathon runners.
> 5K Parking Information:
5K runners have to park at the parking lot located at 5215 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA (http://goo.gl/maps/Yn5kE). There will be shuttles to transport the runners from this parking lot to the venue of the race and back. The average time from boarding a shuttle to reaching the starting point is about 35 minutes, so please plan to arrive early in order to reach the starting point on time.
> 10K/ Half Marathon Parking Information:
Parking is available at the venue (Hellyer County Park) for 10K/ Half Marathon runners (http://goo.gl/maps/cbYQY).
In case the parking lot at the venue gets full, we will direct cars to an external parking lot, located at 5215 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA (http://goo.gl/maps/Yn5kE). The average time from boarding a shuttle to reaching the starting point is about 35 minutes, so please plan to arrive early in order to reach the starting point on time.

As part of the event this year, we are trying to generate more excitement through the use of color, and we need you to make it happen. The color we have chosen this year is GREEN. We are inviting you and your families to be creative and show us how GREEN you can be. Here are some ideas, but as you know there is no limit to creativity. > Wear GREEN in every possible way you can (shirts, shorts, hats, scarfs, shoes, socks, ..., show us what you got) !! > Ask your friends and family to participate by wearing GREEN and come to the park to cheer you up !! > Wear your free GREEN cotton tshirt (more info on their pick up to follow soon) !! > Paint your face GREEN !! > Be GREEN by carpooling to the event !! |
