TEN WEEKS TO A 13.1 MILE RACE
Vibha Dreammile team presents its third Half marathon training program - Ten weeks to a 13.1 mile race - one of the most affordable half marathon training programs in bay area to get back in shape for the race.
Beginners who have gotten their introduction to running in a 5K or 10K can look to the half marathon as the next step upward. Experienced runners like half marathons because racing 13 miles requires less time commitment than a full 26 mile marathon without compromising on the excitement. Also you can use half marathon races as part of your training for later marathons.
All you need to do to complete DreamMile half marathon is to dedicate yourself for 10 weeks leading up to the race. We have friendly and expert trainers willing to help you get back in shape for the race.
In order to participate in this training program, runners will either need to commit to a fundraising target or pay a flat program fee. We encourage all runners to explore the fundraising option first. You will have a strong support infrastructure and access to past fundraisers/volunteers who can guide you on how to approach your friends/colleagues/relatives for donations. We believe that raising funds should not be a high pressure activity for you and hence we do not have any penalties if fundraising targets are not met. If you find yourself unable to raise funds and get donations, we let you fall back to the flat fee program without any penalties. A fundraising coordinator will work with you and walk you through the details.
First time Trainees:
- First time trainees will have a fundraising target of $50 per mile. So that's $650 for the entire program.
- Alternately, First time trainees can sign up for a flat fee of $300 and excuse themselves from the fundraising completely. If Trainees use this option, they cannot get a tax-deductible receipt. That is, this is not considered as a donation.
- For repeat trainees (runners who trained with us in 2011-2012), the fundraising target will be $500 instead of $650.
- The flat fee for repeat trainees will be $200. That's a $100 discount from the regular price.
